The US and UK have announced a trade deal. This is the first agreement since Trump announced higher tariffs for the rest of the world

The US and the UK have reached a trade deal. This was announced by President Donald Trump and Prime Minister Keith Starmer in a hands-free phone call that was broadcast to the media.

Both Trump and Starmer called the deal ‘unbelievable’. According to the US president, the details of the agreement will be finalised in the coming weeks.

As part of the deal, the UK can, among other things, reduce duties on US cars and agricultural goods, as well as abolish taxes for US technology companies.

The agreements between the US and UK are the first since Trump announced in April that he would raise duties on goods from virtually every country in the world. After numerous offers to negotiate, Trump delayed the imposition of increased tariffs for some countries for 90 days.
