The Leaders of Azerbaijan and Armenia Will Meet with Trump at the White House

US President Donald Trump will meet with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan on 8 August at the White House in Washington, The Washington Post reported, citing two unnamed US officials.

One of the sources said that the meeting may result in the announcement of a peace agreement between Azerbaijan and Armenia, which have been in conflict for several decades.

The Armenian government has confirmed that Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan will visit Washington on 7-8 August. According to the press service, Pashinyan will hold a trilateral meeting with Trump and Aliyev, which is necessary ‘to promote peace, prosperity and economic cooperation in the region.’

Armenia and Azerbaijan have been trying to conclude a peace agreement since 2023, after Baku carried out an operation to take control of the Nagorno-Karabakh region. In March 2025, the parties agreed on a draft peace agreement. In July, the leaders of Azerbaijan and Armenia held peace talks in the United Arab Emirates, but no decision was announced at that time.
