Political Divide Among Young Americans: Men vs Women

New data on the political preferences of American youth once again confirms a noticeable gender gap. According to recent polls, among young people aged 18–29, support for various aspects of Donald Trump’s policies differs significantly between men and women. The difference reaches approximately 20% for each aspect measured.

Political divide among young Americans: men towards the far right, women towards liberal and progressive positions.

This gap captures a larger trend throughout recent years. Young men are increasingly gravitating toward the far-right position, and women towards liberal or left positions.

The gap also exists when it comes to key political issues, and not just party affiliation. These range from the economy to issues of social justice.

Experts note that this trend is likely to intensify. Among young men, there is a growing group of ‘outsiders’. Deteriorating educational indicators, addiction to video games and gaming, and a growing epidemic of loneliness. Against this backdrop, the socio-economic position of women, on the contrary, is strengthening. Women are receiving higher education and are more actively integrated into professional and public life.
